I am sorry to say but Im returning this bottle. I had purchased a sample of this perfume from luckyscent.com a few months ago and fell in love with it. Imagine my excitement when I found the bottle for only on overstock.com. I purchased the bottle and waited for over a week to receive it. When I took it out of the box it immediately smelled off. I couldnt put my finger on it but it smelled like chemicals instead of the rich warm amber I knew. I decided that I would try it out anyhow to see if what came out of the bottle was different than what I smelled coming from the packaging. It wasnt. I was very disappointed and I actually wrote to Serge Lutens to all about it. They looked at the listing on Overstock and informed me that the product was either old as the packaging was an old version or fake and that overstock was not an authorized retailer. Lesson learned. I will be buying the bottle only from an authorized retailer.

To me this scent is carnal, animalistic, sensual and unique. It is definitely off the beaten path as a female fragrance. I dont think it is gender specific. To me this smell is lovely and intense I almost prefer it as a scent for a space rather than wearing it directly. Wonderful but definitely not for everyone

It has that medicinal and herbally opening but dries down to a comfortable amber with smokey vanilla and powdery vibes. Great for the winter
